PRECANCEROUS CHANGES OF GASTRIC MUCOSA AND HELICOBACTER PYLORI INFECTION
S.V. Vernigorodskiy, M.V. Mnikhovich
We present the results of follow-up of 98 patients suffered from chronic non-atrophic gastritis and chronic atrophic gastritis with complete and incomplete intestinal metaplasia. We also studied H. pylori infection in groups of patients with precancerous diseases, namely polyps, adenomas, and stomach ulcer. During fibrogastroduodenoscopy, multiple biopsies were performed. The direct relationship was revealed between the frequency of intestinal metaplasia detection, dysplasia and the degree of colonization of the gastric mucosa by H. pylori, which indicated the involvement of the microorganism in the stepwise process of the formation of precancerous changes in the stomach.
